Description
I captured this photo on the Oregon Coast near Brookings Harbor. Arch Rock, Lookout.
TOP RATED SAMUEL H BOARDMAN STATE PARK is a 12 mile forested corridor creating a linear state park boasting not only a rugged but very steep coastline only interrupted by small and sandy beaches. Samuel H. Boardman, was the first Oregon Parks superintendent. He felt this stunning, green emerald coastline should be saved for public enjoyment. Various stop points and gems to enjoy include the 300-year old sitka spruce trees, Arch Rock (pictured here) and Natural Bridges (see my other photographs in this gallery). One can walk the 27 miles of Oregon Coast Trail that meander through giant forests full of old growth wonders.
Also enjoy in this well-known Oregon State Park, what are known as seaside prairies as well as other spectacular vistas, secluded beaches, rugged cliffs and even forested, distinctive sea stacks. Don't forget to visit the old mining sites. Native American villages once dotted this beautiful area by the Pacific Ocean.
Enjoy my photographs and plan to see this in person one day with camera in hand. Samuel H. Boardman State Park will not disappoint.
