I captured this photo while on a trip to Maui. While this beach is tricky to find it is often ranked very high regarding famous beaches in the resort areas of Maui, and deservingly so. This natural wonder is postcard-perfect as it is a 100′ wide by 1000′ long crescent making it an incredible photo opportunity for photography enthusiasts and professionals alike. Hamoa Beach is a popular surf break as well and has been surfed by Hawaiians since ancient times. Once designated the world's best beach by Ernest Hemingway, Hamoa Beach is one of Maui's most beloved destinations by locals.

Author James Michener, who wrote the famous 1959 book, “Hawaii” also called Hamoa Beach in Hana the most beautiful in the Pacific.
